Informal consultation – Various Schemes in Harrogate

Three traffic calming consultations in Harrogate. Consultation documents to be viewed alongside survey.

Prior to implementing changes to the highway network, Local Highway Authorities must consult with local residents in order to comply with various pieces of legislation. These changes include but are not limited to:

  • addition or removal of parking spaces, adding double yellow lines
  • amending speed limits or creating speed zones
  • creating or modifying pedestrian crossings
  • installing traffic calming (including vertical features such as road humps or speed cushions) to reduce vehicle speeds

We are seeking your views on several different schemes in the West of Harrogate Area. All schemes are proposed with the intention of improving road safety for all users including pedestrians, cyclists, vulnerable road users and motorists.

The schemes are developed in partnership with our internal consultants and have been discussed with local councillors, our internal traffic safety team and the police prior to this informal consultation.

As such we welcome your thoughts on the below proposals. These initial consultations will run between January and February, the specific dates for each consultation will be listed within the introduction. Your answers will be collected and reviewed, and any necessary changes made to the proposals.

Afterwards, notices will be placed on site with details on how to make further comments if required.

For each scheme please review the consultation drawings and complete the appropriate survey.
