The report provides an annual update on housing and employment land delivery and availability for the period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

 Strategic housing market assessment (SHMA) (pdf / 2 MB)

The SHMA examines characteristics of the local population and housing market in order to make recommendations about future housing needs and provision, including through developer contributions.

 Five year housing land supply report (pdf / 1 MB)

The report examines our ability to demonstrate that there is an adequate supply of land to meet the housing target set out in the Craven local plan for the period 2023 to 2028.

Strategic housing and economic land availability assessment (SHELAA)

The SHELAA examines the suitability, availability and achievability of sites put forward by landowners, in order to determine the potential supply of land, in the local area, for housing and economic development.

 Employment land review (ELR) (pdf / 9 MB)

The ELR examines characteristics of the local economy, businesses and labour force in order to make recommendations about future employment needs and provisions.

Strategic flood risk assessment (SFRA)

The SFRA examines flood risk from rivers, surface water and all other sources in order to identify the extent and severity of flood risk in the local area and to recommend appropriate responses, including from developers.

 Infrastructure delivery plan (IDP) (pdf / 1 MB)

The IDP examines the need for essential infrastructure to support delivery of the Craven local plan and sets out a strategy for its provision, including through developer contributions.

 Retail and leisure study (pdf / 7 MB)

The study examines characteristics of local centres, businesses, shoppers and visitors in order to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and appropriate responses.

 Open space assessment (pdf / 12 MB)

The assessment examines the provision of and need for open space, sports facilities and recreation facilities in the local area and sets out strategies and standards for future provision, including through developer contributions.

 Landscape appraisal (pdf / 28 MB)

The appraisal examines local landscape character, identifies threats and opportunities and makes recommendations for safeguarding and enhancement, including from development.

Conservation area appraisals

Each appraisal examines an area's historic character, identifies threats and opportunities and makes recommendations for safeguarding and enhancement, including from development.

 Viability assessment (pdf / 23 MB)

The assessment examines the cost of infrastructure provision and other policy requirements in order to ensure that the financial viability of development and the successful implementation of the Craven local plan is not undermined.

SA and HRA

The SA and HRA reports set out evidence to demonstrate that the Craven local plan fulfils important obligations with respect to sustainable development and habitat protection, through the processes of sustainability appraisal (SA) and habitat regulations assessment (HRA).
