Libraries in North Yorkshire are an important part of the community.
Our libraries are doing very well and have been given national awards.
Volunteers are very important and help to keep our libraries open.

Our libraries are more than a place to borrow books.
They are somewhere you can go to get help and information, and to do activities.
We want our libraries to:
Support reading and learning.
Support better health and wellbeing.
Have computers and help people to use them.
Be an important place for communities.
These are some things we need to do to make sure our libraries keep doing well. They are:
Help more people to read.
Make libraries bright and safe places to visit.
Help people to learn.
Have activities and events.
Help people to use computers.
Have internet access and free WiFi.
Help people to find out about their community.
Have good quality books in different formats.
