Minerals and waste joint plan

The examination of the minerals and waste joint plan is now complete.

As the minerals and waste planning authority for the county, excluding the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors national parks, we have to prepare a minerals and waste local plan.

The statement of community involvement explains what we will do to involve people in preparing new minerals and waste related policy.

The authority monitoring report shows the implementation of the minerals and waste development scheme and the success which adopted policies are implemented.

We are working with other authorities to produce a minerals and waste joint plan.

The emerging minerals and waste joint plan, must be based on evidence.

The minerals and waste joint plan has been informed by sustainability appraisal which will assess the environmental, social and economic effects of the plan at key stages.

This assessment looks at the risk of flooding from all sources, such as rivers, sewers, groundwater, canals and the impact of climate change.

The minerals and waste joint plan has been subject to habitats regulations assessment to ensure internationally protected habitats are not harmed.
