Article 4 Directions

They are usually introduced in a conservation area to ensure that minor developments, such as roof or window replacements, do not damage the area's character and appearance.

In Richmondshire, both Middleham and Leyburn conservation areas have Article 4 Directions. The following design guides have been produced to help owners:
