Aqua Aerobics

A water-based aerobics class. The resistance of the water strengthens and tones your muscles for a full-body workout without putting any strain on your joints.

Aqua Zumba

Suitable for 14 years plus.

Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba dance philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you should not miss! Great for all abilities, your instructor will provide you with different intensity exercise options. Exercising in water is a fantastic way to reduce the impact on your joints so is ideal for beginners and those returning to exercise.

Barbell Pump

Suitable for 16 years plus.

Barbell Pump is a resistance-based class set to fun and upbeat music. This workout is designed to tone and sculpt the whole body using low to moderate weights and high repetitions. You will use a barbell for most of the moves in the class and incorporate body weight and core exercises for a full body strength and conditioning workout.

Bootcamp

Suitable for 14 years plus.

A circuit based interval class running from the functional area of the gym that includes cardio exercises and strength training. You will have a great time with the people around you, be supported as you progress and be motivated to achieve your goals. It is also a great opportunity for those new to gym equipment that would like additional support.

Boxercise

Boxercise is an exercise concept based on the training methods used by boxers. Sessions typically involve hitting focus pads but no class involves hitting an opponent. It is a fun, challenging and safe workout which is great for stress busting, accessible to all ages and fitness levels.

Empower Hour

Suitable for 14 years plus.

An inclusive and accessible group exercise class. Starting with group games to warm up, followed by a circuit style class with exercises to help improve balance, coordination, strength and general fitness. Followed by a group cool down and stretches.

Seated exercises with optional standing to reduce your risk of falls. This class focuses on building muscle strength, improving or maintaining aerobic fitness and mobility and increasing flexibility and coordination.

Gen Chi

All about the mind and body. Gen Chi Yoga focuses on deep relaxing stretches to help ease away the stress and tension from life’s many challenges. It will help to improve your flexibility and mobility through a series of poses, movements, and stretches. This class can be adapted for all abilities to provide everyone with a relaxing and restorative 45 minutes.

BODYATTACK™ is a high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. We combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. A LES MILLS™ instructor will pump out energizing tunes and lead you through the workout – challenging your limits in a good way, burning up to 555 calories and leaving you with a sense of achievement.

BODYPUMP™ is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS™, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 400 calories**. LES MILLS RPM™

RPM™ is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity.

With great music pumping and the group cycling as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. In an RPM workout you repeatedly rotate the pedals to reach your cardio peak then ease back down, keeping pace with the pack to lift your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness.

Low Impact Circuit

Suitable for 14 years plus.

A low intensity class that uses a series of exercises for a simple but effective full body workout. You’ll use light weights to improve your strength and also complete some body weight exercises for your balance, mobility and cardiovasular fitness too. This class is perfect for beginners, or those returning to exercise. Many of the exercises can be modified for injuries or be chair based if needed.

Otago

Otago is a 12-week, evidenced-based strength and balance exercise programme to reduce falls in frailer older people. This programme is by referral only and must be booked through one of our Ageing Well advisors.

Suitable for 14 years plus.

A blend of slow and controlled exercises to improve your posture and flexibility and increase core strength, while reducing stress levels. You will focus your mind and create a lasting sense of wellbeing and calm.

Tai Chi

Suitable for 14 years plus.

An exercise therapy system that works with slow and controlled body movements. Gentle exercise in coordination with breathing and meditation. Although you are not working with weights or resistance bands, the unsupported arm exercise involved in Tai Chi strengthens your upper body. Tai Chi strengthens both the lower and upper extremities and also the core muscles of the back and abdomen. On a physical level, Tai Chi improves strength, flexibility, aerobic conditioning and balance in addition to the many relaxational benefits.
