Users of a sport and leisure site in Skipton are being asked how they want it to develop and grow.

A new masterplan is being drawn up for the Sandylands site which will see us work with a raft of organisations that currently use the land.

The plan aims to create a framework for future growth and development on the site which was created in 1947 by the Coulthurst Trust specifically for rugby, cricket and other kindred sports.

It is owned by multiple landowners - including us who owns the grass pitches on the southern part of the site - and has a wide range of stakeholders, buildings and clubs operating from it. It is used by schools and sports clubs as well as ‘pay and play’ customers.

The new consultation is being facilitated us council by the STRI Group and is asking for views on usage of the existing facilities, parking, access, and travel, quality of the existing facilities, and where people see the future of Sandylands.

Complete the consultation ahead of a deadline of 7 July.
