Alongside being the largest employer in the region the council has over 3,000 property assets with a £1.3 billion balance sheet generating £13 million revenue. Our large and diverse property portfolio provides us with opportunities which we are keen to harness. Our property services play a significant part in our council strategy; it’s where we work from and helps creates the environment and culture as a modern employer of choice, but it is much, much more.
North Yorkshire Council’s property portfolio is managed by Property Services within the corporate centre of the organisation. We operate a corporate landlord approach to oversee over 3,000 diverse land and property assets including schools, corporate offices, depots, service delivery accommodation, farms, industrial units, surplus sites, and commercial assets. The portfolio generates rental income in excess of £13 million and has a balance sheet value of around £1.3 billion. Our large and diverse property portfolio provides us with opportunities which we are keen to harness. Our property services play a significant part in our council strategy; it’s where we work from and helps creates the environment and culture as a modern employer of choice, but it is much, much more.
