We are aware of a nationwide cyber-security attack and data breach affecting two of our care providers, NRS Healthcare and Medequip.
We are working with both companies to understand the impact of these incidents, as well as liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the Local Government Association and the NHS.
Providers are working closely with national cyber security experts to manage the situation and determine the risks to people’s personal data. Should we receive specific intelligence regarding people living in North Yorkshire, we will of course act on these quickly.
Customers using services and equipment from either NRS Healthcare or Medequip can be reassured that all technology services which provide help to those who need it are continuing to operate effectively, and they will continue to receive the support they require.
As a safeguarding measure, we would encourage service users to be extra vigilant with phone calls, texts, emails and visits from people you do not know.
