The library is located just off the main pedestrian precinct on Vernon Road, next door to the Iceland supermarket. There are two bus stops near the library, which are served by numerous routes. The railway station is also nearby.
The most convenient parking is at the Palm Court multi-storey on Vernon Road or the Brunswick multi-storey on York Place. Alternatively, Scarborough has a park and ride scheme on the A64 and the A165 Filey approach to town.
The library has ramps, automatic doors, lifts, a disabled toilet and an induction loop system.
You can borrow a range of books for all ages in a variety of formats, including large print and audio. DVDs and foreign language titles are also available for loan, as well as micro:bits. You can request any item that is not immediately available.

The archive volunteer group meets every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm.
Family History research available upon request.
Wednesdays Knitting and Crochet Group meet 2pm to 4pm and Sewing Group meet 4pm to 6pm.
