There are a range of social work roles and locations across the county. You can earn from £35,745 to £44,428 plus a substantial relocation allowance.

We have a national reputation for excellence and we are looking for social workers from all levels to join us. We would also welcome those who are looking to relocate to the area.

Come and work in one of our children social work teams, this includes the family assessment and support team, the child permanence and reunification team and fostering and adoption. Our work is child-centred, and there is a clearly embedded model of practice based on building effective relationships with children, young people and families. We work collaboratively with other local authorities on a range of practice developments during their improvement journey.

Development opportunities as a children and families social worker at the council

Social workers have the support of our principal social worker who can guide on practice and talk to you about your social work career.

  • Advanced Practitioner - Grade L - salary £40,221 to £44,428
  • Practice Supervisor, Grade M - salary £44,428 to £48,474
  • Team Manager, Grade N - salary £48,474 to £52,504

Salaries are pro rata, per annum.
