Open market review - next generation access (NGA) broadband coverage in North Yorkshire 2015
Superfast North Yorkshire (SFNY) would like to request all broadband service providers in North Yorkshire to take part in an open market review (OMR) to ensure the understanding of existing and planned NGA compliant broadband coverage (as defined by BDUK) is as accurate as possible.
The results of the OMR will assist us with understanding the full broadband infrastructure (in terms of available speeds and technologies) already in place and where there are pre-existing, defined plans for investment in such infrastructure in the coming three years. It will provide a significant step in gathering the data set which will inform the next phase of public funding of broadband services within North Yorkshire. This OMR is intended as a precursor to a formal public consultation.
If you are a broadband service provider with customers in North Yorkshire, your response is essential in helping the SFNY project to ensure that state funds are not used to duplicate NGA infrastructure where any currently exists, or is subject to pre-existing planned deployment.
The open market review will be formally published on the YORTender website on 1 October 2015.
