Development control fulfils our legal responsibility for determining minerals and waste development planning applications outside the two national parks, and our own development.
We are responsible for:
- Preparing statutory land use plans;
- Dealing with all planning applications for minerals, such as quarries and oil and gas sites, and waste - landfill and recycling - developments and our own development, such as schools, libraries, and highways; and
- Monitoring, compliance and enforcement of planning matters associated with minerals and waste sites and our own development proposals.
